Privacy Policy

Make Christ Your Aim (makechristyouraim.org) is a personal, non-commercial website. There are no ads, no products, and nothing for sale — including your data. This page explains what little information the site collects and why.

Email subscriptions

If you subscribe to be notified of new posts, we collect your email address (and your first name, if you give it). We use these only to send you a notice when a new post is published. Subscriptions are confirmed by a double opt-in (you click a link in a confirmation email), and every email includes an unsubscribe link — one click removes you. Your details are stored in the site’s database and are not sold, rented, or shared. Notification emails are sent through a Gmail account, so Google handles their delivery.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand general, aggregate traffic — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from. This sets cookies and shares usage data, including your IP address, with Google. See Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. On this site they come from Google Analytics (above), from the caching system that helps pages load quickly, and — if you leave a comment or log in — from WordPress to remember those choices. You can clear or block cookies anytime in your browser settings.

Scripture references

Scripture links and pop-ups are provided by RefTagger (Logos Bible Software). When these load, your browser contacts Logos’ servers as it would any embedded content.

Comments

If you leave a comment, we collect what you enter in the comment form plus your IP address and browser information to help detect spam. Comment spam is checked through Akismet (Automattic); see https://automattic.com/privacy/. If you use a Gravatar profile picture, an anonymized hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar to display it.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Hostinger, whose servers keep standard access logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages requested) for security and operation.

How long we keep your data

We keep your subscription details until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Comments and their metadata are kept so follow-up comments can be recognized.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. You may also ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, contact us through our Contact page.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the site changes; the current version always lives on this page.
